We have recently introduced a new service to help people with dementia and their carers. Older men with dementia can have behavioural issues that are difficult to manage. We specialise in helping carers deal with these issue. Give John a ring on 0412 225 358 to discuss how we can tailor a program that will help.

Dementia Care training
There is an increasing awareness of dementia care because of the actions of some pioneers. They are also running some excellent online courses.
Here are some:
University of Tasmania have two MOOC's.
Understanding Dementia
Preventing Dementia.
I have done both and can thoroughly recommend them to anybody interested in understanding the latest research in dementia care.
If you are currently working in dementia care, Dementia Training Australia provide a unit of competency they call 'Dementia Essentials'.
DTA have also now begun a series of online courses aimed at the professional needing to remain competent.
The NSW Health Department are also now promoting an online set of courses that include dementia care.
Training.gov.au list the latest improvement to the VET level of training for dementia care workers. This is a Certificate III in Individual Support. This Certificate replaces the Certificate III Aged Care and other community care certificates.
